History
100 years ago these beautiful ships sailed along the Lake Michigan coast. One of those ships was the Rouse Simmons the fabled “Christmas Tree Ship”, who’s Capitan, was born in Algoma. Now Algoma is famous for its sport fishing.
The Schooner Coast House is located along the Schooner Coast that runs from Manitowoc to Sturgeon Bay on Highway 42, which is part of the Lake Michigan Circle Tour. Being roughly 7 miles from the door county line you have a lot of activities to choose from all year long.
The house is believed to have been built in the 1940’s and has been completely renovated. With beautiful views of Lake Michigan and a view of Algoma’s famous light house it retains the original charm with hardwood floors and archways; it is a wonderful place to stay. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay.

The house has 100 feet of private beach, from which, you can see Algoma’s famous red lighthouse and enjoy the pebble beach. If you want to swim bring swim shoes. Beware, that there is no life guard on duty so swimming is at your own risk. If you like fishing, I think you can get lucky.
The kitchen is new, well equipped, has all new stainless steel appliances, and features a 6 foot patio door that steps onto a 15 foot by 45 foot deck overlooking Lake Michigan.

Hwy 42 North to Algoma right before the County K turn off the house is on your right. If you went to County K you went to far. Going South it is right after the County K turn off on your left.
